About
The ciliate Paramecium species are model organisms widely used for various researches on eukaryotes. Yamaguchi University has been acting as the core facility for Paramecium resources in the world under the National BioResource Project (NBRP) of the MEXT to distribute various Paramecium strains worldwide.
We collect and provide various species and their metadata (e.g. syngens and mating types) to researchers. We can also provide strains used for genome and transcriptome studies, endosymbiont bearing strains.
Material Transfer Agreements (MTA) are used to protect the intellectual property rights of the developer of the strains and the antibodies. Yamaguchi University collaborates with overseas institutes to contribute for the advancement of the life science.
